MyCreativeLife is a creative self-management programme to accompany MyLifeTool. The seven session programme uses simple creative activities to support people with long-term conditions to reflect on their self-management journey.
The MyCreativeLife programme can be used by health and social care professionals and practitioners, peer mentor/support workers and organisations with support work streams.
Each session is based on a different booklet from MyLifeTool and uses creative activities which are designed to support people to reflect on a specific issue, such as how they see themselves and how they interact with others.
Taking part in the programme may help people to improve their goal setting, encourage people to be kinder and less critical of themselves and give people the chance to share their experiences with others who understand what it is like to live with a long-term condition.
The programme does not rely on people being great artists and it does not require special equipment - paper and pencils are enough. Sessions can be supported by peer mentors - people with long-term conditions who know what it is like to live with these conditions.
The programme can be delivered face to face or online and should be led by someone who is suitably qualified to work in a support role with people with long-term conditions.
We have created a practitioner handbook and client information sheets to support you in offering the programme to your clients.
We can also provide training to practitioners and organisations who would like to run the programme with their clients. Alternatively, we can deliver the programme to your clients. Please contact Dr Stephanie Kilinc at info@mylifetool.co.uk for pricing and to discuss your requirements.
